Community Relations Grant Application

In order to create an effective grants process, Rex has created a contribution application and corporate giving process. Rex's charitable priorities include: health, human services, education, arts and economic development. We are particularly excited to place special emphasis on requests related to our cancer center/oncology, surgical services, orthopedics, heart and vascular services and the communities where Rex is planning or has started operations – Cary, Wakefield/Wake Forest, Garner, Apex, and soon, Knightdale!

Grants are awarded in March for the upcoming fiscal year (starting July 1 and ending June 30). For sponsorship requests, we ask that all persons/organizations please complete the Rex Healthcare community grants application and return it no later than Jan. 1. It can be emailed via the Web or mailed to Rex Marketing and addressed to:

Rex also asks for the following accompanying documentation:

  • A current annual operating budget with income and expenses
  • Proof of 501(C)(3) status
  • A list of business and foundation donors with their contribution levels
  • The most recent audited financial statement (if there is no audit, explain why)
  • A project budget detailing project expenses and anticipated income sources
  • Supporting materials (annual reports, brochures, fliers)

Please be reminded that Rex Healthcare does not provide contributions to:

  • Organizations without 501(c)(3) charitable status
  • Organizations that practice discrimination by race, gender, religion, age, sexual preference or national origin
  • Political candidates
  • Religious organizations for religious purposes
  • Private foundations
  • Endowments or capital campaigns (bricks and mortar)
  • Trips and tours
  • Marketing sponsorships
  • Individuals

One cash grant per calendar year is provided to eligible nonprofit organizations. Please be advised that because of Rex Healthcare's reputation as a good corporate citizen throughout the Triangle, we receive more requests for charitable contributions than we can accommodate.
